Great little drive! Some design issues. Just purchased this yesterday, so I cannot comment on reliability yet. I do have some thoughts on the design:

- The glossy black finish looks great next to the latest generation MacBook and MacBook Pro (the ones with the aluminum unibody). However, it is a fingerprint magnet, so I consider it a poor choice of material for something that is intended to be handled frequently.

- The built-in, retractable USB cord is a great idea, but it is super short. This is fine for a laptop sittin... –Steve Kofrom Amazon.com

VERY nice I love this drive. It spins up much faster than my wall-powered WD external, is VERY light-weight, and the ports are great.
It is brilliant to have the USB cable built into the drive. VERY convenient, as I don't have to carry that around too.
On that note, the thing powers fine from my macbook with just the retractable USB cable, so no power issues there. Obviously does fine with Firewire too.
